Another year has come and gone… or has it? We’ve had so much fun with our readers this past year that we’ve rounded up the top inspirational themes that got us through 2015. Hundreds of thousands of Boss Girls have spoken via social media and we’ve noticed! Here are the empowering ideas that are most important to you, from greatest to least. Share the images and spread the love, to remind all your friends what’s important to you.
1) Be a true friend
Be there for the people in your life and always try to be uplifting. Everyone goes through enough hardship in life. Be the person that your friends and family can count on. Generously give unconditional love and hope; you’re bound to get them back in your time of need.
2) Command respect
Work hard and earn respect from others. If you feel you deserve more in your life or career, know how to stand up for yourself. You have to teach others how to treat you. Find your voice and be your own best advocate.
3) Choose your partner wisely
Be careful who you give your heart to. It’s better to be single than to be burdened by someone who doesn’t know your value. Make sure he or she loves you genuinely and treats you well. If you find the one for you, then form a healthy partnership and conquer the world together.
4) Be fiercely independent
Draw strength from your uniqueness. Blaze your own trail. Create an amazing vision for your life and make it happen. Appreciate a healthy interdependence between you and the important people in your life, yet also know how to flaunt your independence and take care of yourself.
5) Don’t do more than you’re able
Your worth is not associated with your productivity. Nothing you do will make you any more amazing than you already are. Life is not a race to the finish line. Take breaks and work at your own pace. Take good care of yourself as you work to achieve your goals. You’ll get there in your own time.
6) Write your own story
The best days are ahead of you. Make sure you, and no one else, are the author of your own life. Only re-read past chapters of your life to remember your victories and learn from your mistakes. Don’t allow past failures hold you back from turning a new page and starting a new chapter.
7) Be a die hard optimist
Be happy, not because everything is good, but because you can see the good in everything. Attitude is everything. Sometimes bringing more joy into your life is as simple as changing your perspective. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change.
8) Make your dreams a reality
Dreams don’t work unless you do. Work hard to achieve the things you want in life. Show the world that your dreams are more than a fantasy, more than a whim. Come up with a clear plan to accomplish your goals. Map out what steps to take and create a timeline with achievable milestones.
9) Tap into your inner strength
Become a stronger person by evaluating your life and making improvements to your confidence level, ability to problem solve, and emotional stability. This will prepare you to live life to the fullest and help you get through the tough times. Gain confidence from your victories and develop an iron-clad resilience.
10) Reject the idea of perfection
Don’t try to be perfect; just try to be better than you were yesterday. Failure is a part of life. Instead of wasting time worrying about your mistakes, grow and move on. A life lived so cautiously to avoid taking risks and making mistakes is not the kind of life you want. Be more focused on being yourself and doing your best. You are perfect just the way you are!
