It’s true. I’m 22 and slightly obsessed with YA reads… that’s right Young Adult books. My latest obsession? Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige. Yeah it sounds a bit harsh. But believe me, you’ll see why. Paige takes the home of Emerald City and everything you think you know about it and flips it right on its head. Welcome to a dystopian, post-Dorothy land of Oz where munchkins drop the F-bomb and the Tin Man is a malevolent Edward Scissorhands. As if I couldn’t love it any more, our protagonist Amy Gumm is a badass young woman who does things for herself and comes from anything-but the picket fence life. #bossgirl #crushingit
Anywhoodle, I’m still finishing the first book in Paige’s series (Chapter 34 here I come!), but this fabulous read got me thinking: what other awesome YA novels are out there that I’m not paying attention to? So I did some digging and found Oyster’s list of 16 Young Adult Novels for Any Age. Enjoy! And read Dorothy Must Die and let me know what you think because I need someone to share all my feels with! So. many. feels.
